Ultra (LaseMD Ultra by Cynosure Lutronic) is a gentle 1927 nm laser that treats thousands of tiny spots in the outer layers of your skin. As those areas renew, dull, sun-damaged cells are replaced by fresher skin, so your complexion looks brighter, smoother and more even.
Ultra is a great fit for sun spots, age spots and freckles, uneven tone, rough texture, the look of pores and dullness, all very common under the Arizona sun. Treatments take about 10 to 20 minutes, and many patients notice a healthy glow within days. It can be customized for all skin types and done any time of year.

Expect pinkness and a rough, sandpaper-like feel for a few days as old surface cells shed. Most people go right back to their day.
Settings are customized to your skin, and Ultra can be done any time of year with good sun protection.
During: the laser glides over your skin. You may feel warmth or light prickling, and topical numbing can be used for comfort.
After: skin looks pink and feels warm, like a mild sunburn. Over the next few days it may feel rough, like fine sandpaper, as old surface cells shed and fresher skin comes through. Wear sunscreen daily and avoid tanning while your skin renews.
How many sessions: most patients do a series of 3 treatments, about one month apart, then occasional maintenance. Your provider will recommend the right plan for your skin at your consultation.
Ultra can also be used on the scalp. The laser creates tiny channels that help what we apply afterward absorb better, which is why we pair it with PRP microneedling in our hair restoration program.
